Mom's 60th Birthday

Earlier this month we celebrated my mom's 60th birthday. Yay Mom! We (her children) wanted to throw her a big surprise party but came to terms with the fact that she lives 3000 miles across the country and pass rides, so if we wanted to get her here for a party we would have to tell her about it. We tried to keep it a little mysterious so that she wouldn't know all the details but asked her who she wanted to celebrate with. She started out just wanting the immediate family but every time I would talk to her she would suggest another few names she hasn't seen for some time. Although the invitations went out late (my bad), the desert bar was delectable and the party went off with out a hitch.  Needless to say my mother gracefully and beautifully entered her sixties.  It was so fun to see many people from my childhood and reconnect.  The next day we went to Grand America for brunch and it was scrumptious and simply delightful.
